Painting Your Car Brake Calipers
Painting the car brake
calipers is a great idea if you want to modify your car and tranform it into something unique and appealing. Although painting the calipers won't increase its performance, you can prevent this automotive component from rusting. This task is pretty easy and cheap. Here are some tips that can help you
in painting your car brake calipers:
1. Select a paint color. Make sure it suits for metal application. Consult an
employee at your local hardware store.
2. You have to jack up your car and remove the wheel. You
either remove the calipers or not when painting. Make sure to cover the car and some parts
of the brake disk before applying the paint.
3.After removing the car brake caliper, clean it by scouring it with the wire brush, then wipe it with clean
cloth.
4. Paint the brake caliper using the spray paint in the color of your choice. Wait for
a few minutes for the second coat. You can apply a third coat, if necessary.
5. If you apply a thick coating,
it can be very hard to fit and remove the calipers. The combination of brush and spray work really well.
The brush gets into the spots that are hard to reach with the spray.
6. Let it sit until it dries. Remove the cover, if necessary.
7. Reattach the calipers then replace the wheel on the vehicle
and lower the vehicle to the ground.
